Welcome to Forest3DTwin ¶
3D characterization of trees and forests with terrestrial LiDAR (TLS) offers great potential for modeling carbon, energy fluxes and habitat diversity. Many Research Groups collect complex TLS data in forests, but so far there is no open repository for these data or even their metadata.
In the Forest3DTwin project, we are developing a prototype for the open storage of measured 3D data with reference data and are convinced that this can be established at WSL in the long term.
Researchers can create their own profiles, register research areas (plots) and add data in the form of campaigns. The data is displayed on Envidat Forest 3D Twin Beta (currently in beta version).
